If you want the freshest Christmas tree in Southern California, be sure to visit Casazza’s Christmas Tree Farm in Etiwanda. If you want the driest tree in southern California you could always buy a tree that was cut down a month ago, trucked in from Oregon, and then sat in the Santa Ana winds for a week or more. Or you can visit the Christmas tree farm and walk around inhaling the glorious smell of Christmas while you choose just the perfect tree for your family. If you aren’t ready to take it home yet, you can pay for it, have it tagged with your name, and let it stay in the ground until you return closer to Christmas to pick it up!

Casazza’s is the oldest Christmas tree farm in Southern California. In 1955 George Hoppe decided to clear 10 acres of his citrus grove and plant Christmas trees. In the 1970s the Casazza family bought the farm, and in the 1980s Gail and Don Edwards took over running it from Gail’s father.

Gail says their kids grew up working the farm. That is how they earned their spending money while growing up. While many people think this is just a seasonal business, with only one month of work a year, that couldn’t be any further from the truth. It really is a year round, minimum 5 day a week undertaking. The trees need to be trimmed, watered, fertilized and weeded.

The tree farm has many loyal customers who come back year after year to get their trees, even if they move far away. Some of their customers live in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Mammoth and Las Vegas. They make the trek to Etiwanda every year to choose, cut and take home their trees.

Casazza’s Christmas Tree Farm always opens for business the weekend before Thanksgiving and closes the weekend before Christmas. Be sure to pay them a visit. You won’t regret it!
